She wondered, could they use their phones to document learning? She met with a developer to create the LOL app, the initial version of GENIE app. The developer, a web 3 enthusiast, mentioned integrating LOL app with emerging technology called the blockchain, saying it could be used to create a distributed ledger for decentralized learning and how tokenomics could create a ROI for learning. Strangely, as Karema listened, she found herself crying; overwhelmed at the possibility she “stumbled upon!” LOL app failed to gain traction and NO ONE understood blockchain!
